Where were the scarlet 'C's at the Capitol?
When Capitol Ministries president and Bible study leader
Ralph Drollinger said it was "sinful" for women legislators to
leave small children at home, a group of lawmakers donned
aprons for a day -- branded with a scarlet "M" for "Mother" --
in protest. When Drollinger called Catholicism a "false
religion," those legislators weren't exactly dressing like
priests and nuns -- or slapping on a scarlet "C" -- in protest.

Time for Kerry to get with reality
About 101 million people voted in the 2000 presidential
election. In 2004, the "American Idol 3" finale drew about 65
million votes. In 2000, the Republican National Convention
didn't crack the top 20 in the Nielsen ratings, with reality-TV
godfather "Survivor" topping the heap at 27.4 million viewers.
Viewers found that year's Democractic National Convention
equally exciting (or lack thereof); it was also voted off the
Nielsen island.
